Seeds Planted in Childhood
I was born and raised in Durban in a warm home filled with faith, love, and strong family values. As a child, I attended moral values classes where I learnt the principles of truth, peace, right conduct, love, and non-violence. At that time, I did not realise how deeply those teachings would shape my life, but today I see they were the seeds that grew into a life of purpose.
Discovering the One World One Family Mission
I have always enjoyed adventure, cricket, and creative work in graphic design. Yet it was through community service that I began to discover another side of myself — the seeker, the server, and the spiritual being slowly unfolding within. Last year, I was introduced to the One World One Family Mission. Initially, I knew very little about the mission or about Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai. However, something about the message and the spirit behind it drew me in. I began exploring more — listening to talks, watching videos — and gradually my heart opened to the depth of the work being done.
Ubuntu and One World One Family
As I learnt more, I was deeply moved by the scale of service, the unity of purpose, and the sincerity of those involved. It felt less like an organisation and more like a living expression of love through action. Over time, I realised that this philosophy was not new to me. In South Africa, the concept of Ubuntu, ‘I am because we are’, teaches that life gains meaning when we uplift others. The vision of One World One Family resonated deeply with this understanding of shared humanity and collective responsibility.
Service Becomes a Way of Life
I joined a group of like-minded individuals in Durban who were inspired by the teachings of Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai and actively engaged in the One World One Family Mission. I began volunteering in blood donation drives and also contributed as a digital coordinator. Initially, it felt like simple service, but gradually a deeper transformation began. A strong sense of belonging emerged. Service was no longer just an activity; it became a way of life. Small acts gained meaning, teamwork brought joy, and showing up with sincerity gave purpose to each day.
Through the One World One Family Mission, a deeper understanding also emerged that the Divine is not distant but present within every heart and every act of selfless service. One teaching of Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai that stayed with me was that every act of service becomes an act of worship. This transformed my perspective entirely.
A Life Guided by Purpose
Today, there is greater confidence not because of personal achievements, but because of clarity of purpose. Life has become a journey of loving, serving, growing, and supporting others to grow. Failures are no longer seen as endings but as opportunities for growth and redirection. The aspiration moving forward is to deepen commitment to service and inspire others through action rather than words. For there is no greater joy than giving, and no greater strength than living with compassion for others.
