Active since: 2012
India is the founding nation and global headquarters of One World One Family Mission. From a single site in Karnataka, what began in 2012 has grown into a worldwide movement, and the heart of that movement remains here. India is home to the Mission’s full institutional network, including a free medical college, a chain of free paediatric cardiac hospitals, a multi-campus education system and a nationwide nutrition programme. All services are provided entirely free of charge. The Mission’s work in India spans three core areas: healthcare, education and nutrition, each built on models designed to be replicable, inclusive and sustainable, and each focused on rural communities, underserved children and families without access to even basic care.
How we serve
Here are a few ways in which we serve
Health

One World One Family Mission's healthcare model in India is designed as a complete continuum of care, reaching patients from the village level to advanced multispecialty treatment, all entirely free of charge.
At the community level, Sai Swasthya Wellness Centres provide preventive care, outpatient consultations and basic health services in rural and remote areas. Sai Aarogya Vahini mobile medical units extend this reach further, bringing doctors, diagnostics and medicines directly to underserved communities that may otherwise have little or no access to care.
At the next level, Sai Aarogya Hospitals provide secondary care for patients who need more sustained treatment, investigation and specialist support closer to home. For children with congenital and acquired heart conditions, the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals form a dedicated network of free paediatric cardiac and mother-and-child hospitals, ensuring that highly specialised care is available to those who would otherwise be unable to access it.
At the highest level, the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) in Muddenahalli serves as a fully free teaching hospital and multispecialty centre, caring for patients from India and abroad while training the next generation of doctors. With advanced specialties, including robotic surgery and genomics, it represents the Mission's tertiary care model: combining high-end medical treatment, medical education and research in one institution. Further strengthening this vision, the upcoming Sri Sathya Sai Sitaram Jindal Block is being developed as an expansion of this fully free tertiary care ecosystem.
Education

One World One Family Mission's education system in India is built on the gurukulam model: fully residential campuses where academic learning, human values and life skills are woven together, and where every aspect of a student's life including food, accommodation, books, uniforms, and mentorship, is provided free of charge. The system is designed especially for rural and underserved students, ensuring that talent and character, not financial background, determine a child's future.
Education begins in school and continues through undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies across a network of campuses in Karnataka and beyond, anchored by the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence. Alongside strong academics, students participate in sports, music, arts and community service, with dedicated initiatives such as a cricket academy, a Nada Gurukulam for music and the arts, an orchestra and a Veda Gurukulam for traditional Vedic studies.
At the professional level, the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) trains doctors, nurses and allied health professionals in a fully free, values-based medical college and teaching hospital. Students learn in a rural setting while caring for patients, with exposure to advanced specialties and a strong emphasis on service to underserved communities.
Complementing formal education, the Institute of Human Values offers free online courses for teachers, parents, healthcare professionals, management professionals, social workers, teenagers and spiritual seekers. Value Educate the World extends values-based learning to school students, while the Bharath Rashtra Nirmaan Vidyarthi Nidhi scholarship programme supports children at risk of dropping out, helping them remain in school and complete their education.
Nutrition

One World One Family Mission's nutrition work in India is built on a simple principle: no child should go to school hungry, ever! The Annapoorna Morning Nutrition Programme partners with government schools and anganwadis across India to provide a daily morning nutritious supplement before classes begin. This addresses "hidden hunger", the lack of essential vitamins and minerals that can hold children back even when they receive enough calories. This helps improve attendance, concentration and learning outcomes.
A central part of this effort is SaiSure, a scientifically formulated multi-nutrient health mix developed to support children's growth, immunity and cognitive development. SaiSure is produced in-house at a dedicated nutraceutical facility in Muddenahalli. It is offered in different formulations, including a ragi-based variant and a malt-based variant, and is designed to be easy to prepare and scale across diverse regions.
The programme sources organically grown ragi (finger millet) from farmer collectives in Karnataka, purchased at prices that support sustainable livelihoods and encourage organic farming practices. This creates a direct link between rural farmers and the children who benefit from their harvest, strengthening local economies while improving child nutrition. The work is made possible through close collaboration with state and national government bodies, corporate partners and thousands of volunteers who help with preparation, distribution and monitoring at the grassroots level.
