One World One Family Mission is active in Kenya through One World One Family Kenya (in the process of registration), supporting children and families in the Ahero and Nakuru regions through nutrition and education initiatives. The work combines school nutrition with educational support, helping create better opportunities for children to learn, grow and build a brighter future.
How we serve
Here are a few ways in which we serve
Nutrition
In Kenya's Ahero region, children at Bunde School receive warm, home-cooked lunches during the school week. Meals include rice, green grams, tomato, cabbage and onions, providing nutritious food to children who might otherwise go hungry. The lunchtime programme is currently supported by private donors and helps ensure that children can learn with the benefit of a nourishing meal.
Education
The school nutrition programme supports children's participation in education, with teachers reporting improved concentration and participation. A student sponsorship programme also helps children in Ahero and Nakuru access education for the first time, with support including school fees, uniforms, shoes and school bags.
The programme connects individual supporters with children in Kenya who are seeking greater opportunities through education, with plans to extend the support to more children.
