Educates an orphaned child for a month

In Slovenia, a small group of volunteers has been quietly and consistently serving their community for years. Their work centres on food collection for families living in poverty, support during natural disasters, and deeply personal acts of individual care — for the sick, the elderly, the abandoned and those without means. Much of this service reaches beyond Slovenia’s own borders, into Bosnia & Herzegovina and India.
Here are a few ways in which we serve
Every two weeks, volunteers collect and deliver food to Zveza prijateljev mladine – Anita Ogulin, a Slovenian charitable organisation that distributes it to families living in poverty. More than 3,000 meals have been collected and delivered to date.
Beyond collective food collection, individual volunteers carry out deeply personal acts of service. Financial aid has been sent to Bosnia & Herzegovina during flood disasters, and one volunteer regularly pays the electricity bills of a family there. A volunteer with medical training has provided free wound care to someone unable to afford treatment, while another cared for an elderly, seriously ill woman until her final days. Group members also contribute monthly donations to UNICEF, and together funded two hospital beds at the new hospital in Muddenahalli, India.
About our work in Slovenia
Service in Slovenia is carried out by a small, informal group of volunteers operating under the One World One Family Mission. The group is not yet formally registered as a foundation or trust, and its work is entirely self-funded and self-organised, guided by a shared commitment to serving anyone in need.
A group of volunteers in Slovenia — among them Stamenka, Slavica and several others — regularly come together to purchase and donate food for families in need. As one volunteer put it, every opportunity to provide a meal is felt as a quiet joy: the simple happiness of knowing someone will be fed and cared for.
