A National Honour at the State House
In a distinguished ceremony held at the State House, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, President of the Republic of Fiji, conferred the Order of Fiji upon the Trustees of the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji a national salute to a mission that is transforming lives across the Pacific.
Recognising the Vision Behind the Mission
In his address, the President acknowledged the guiding vision of Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, whose One World One Family Mission established the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital in Fiji, providing completely free medical care, including complex heart surgeries, to children who need it most. “Universal access to high-standard medical care remains costly for many ordinary citizens,” he noted, making the Foundation’s work all the more vital.
A Call to Measure Legacy by Lives Uplifted
President Lalabalavu spoke of the responsibility that comes with leadership and the questions every leader must one day answer. “When one finishes from here, they look back and ask, what have I left behind? What have I done?” It was a powerful call to conscience, urging those in positions of power to measure their legacy not by titles held, but by the lives they have uplifted.
A Partnership That Continues to Grow
The President also extended an appeal for the government to strengthen its collaboration with the Foundation, ensuring that the people of Fiji continue to benefit from this remarkable mission. Through free healthcare, education, and nutrition initiatives worldwide, the One World One Family Mission continues to serve underserved communities with compassion and dignity, and in Fiji, that service is already changing lives.
