A fragile beginning
Sanvi Taparia came into the world carrying an extraordinary challenge she was born with only one pumping chamber in her heart. Diagnosed at just three months old, she was still too young to undergo the procedure she urgently needed. Her journey toward health had only just begun.
At six months old, Sanvi had her first surgery at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani International Centre for Child Heart Care & Research. Though the operation was a vital first step, it was far from the last. For years, Sanvi and her family faced a road of ongoing care, monitoring, and quiet courage waiting for the moment she would be strong enough for what came next.
The operation that changed everything
That moment arrived when Sanvi was six years old. During the Paediatric Cardiac Camp held in the first week of September 2025 organised in collaboration with Healing Little Hearts UK she underwent a second complex cardiac surgery at Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. The challenging Fontan Procedure was performed by senior paediatric cardiac surgeons Dr B R Jagannath and Dr C S Hiremath, with the dedicated care of paediatric cardiologist Dr Annie Arvind. It was a landmark operation, and it was a success.
A full life, freely given
Little Sanvi now has a bright and healthy future in front of her. The world-class treatment she received at SMSIMSR provided entirely free of cost means she can grow, flourish, and live the life she always deserved. Her story is a reminder of what compassionate, barrier-free medicine can make possible.
