In this post...

My journey started in Fiji, in a family shaped by resilience and faith. My ancestors came from South India as labourers generations ago, so visiting India feels like returning home. I grew up in a home where two religions Hindu and Christian taught me to respect all paths as I searched for my own purpose.

Early days

At 14, I moved to New Zealand and later became a clinical pharmacist. I worked in high-pressure hospital environments and during national crises like COVID-19. Outwardly, life looked successful, but inside, I felt something was missing. I realised that true healing must include the spiritual dimension.

Moments that changed my life

Everything changed in April 2023 when I visited Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital in Fiji. There were no billing counters only pure love and service. I joined several surgical missions and witnessed children and families transform through compassionate care.

One moment that deeply touched me was caring for an orphaned baby with severe medical challenges. Seeing the entire team surround him with unconditional love reminded me that service is beyond profession, it is humanity in action.

Later, hearing Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai speak about seeing the world as one family awakened my purpose again. Through One World One Family Mission in New Zealand, I began serving meals to the homeless, supporting community initiatives, and visiting elderly residents in rest homes to reduce loneliness.

What I’ve learnt

Today, as Chairperson of One World One Family New Zealand, I have learned that service is not about readiness but willingness. My message is simple, start where you are, serve with what you have, and remember that even one act of love can transform lives. We are truly One World, One Family.
